With many consumers looking towards purchasing 4K ULTRA HD TV sets in the UK and 4K ULTRA HD TV SPAIN SKY UK have announced that they are investigating options and planning several broadcasts this year with several major sporting events rumoured to be confirmed in July 2013. With prices coming down as volumes increase there are many consumers now itching to find out what SKY is going to do. As with SKY 3D where SKY have invested vast amounts of money on promoting SKY 3D and Manufacturers pushing the latest LED 3D SMART Television sets many members of the British Television retailers Trade are wondering what will happen as SKY are yet to confirm exactly what they are and are not going to provide subscribers. After BT managed to knick the major football broadcasting rights from SKY UK they really do need to pull something out of the hat to jkeep subscribers loyal.
With prices coming down for the latest 4K Television that have a 4000p Ultra High Definition picture, many are waiting to see if SKY are going to make an annoucement before comiting large amounts to a new television.
At a BSKYB Press release at the Berkley Hotel in London SKY TV Boss of Engineering who is reponsible for the Broadcasting side of the business was reported to have said "We have no plans to launch UHD 4K TV at this time" You would think that after getting pipped at the post by BT Sports that SKY UK would be looking to get on this new technology ASAP.
