IPTV MARBELLA – “COSTA DEL SOL TV SHAKE UP” British residents and Holiday Home owners are bracing themselves for the big switch over in the Winter of 2013 (aprox) with UK Freesat channels such as BBC ITV CH4 being moved over to Astra 2F The new satellite designed to provide a tighter beam on the UK that will leave many Brits without UK TV in Spain & Portugal. This is what is being printed in the gutter press.

There are various reports on the internet & in English Newspapers about the switch over however “NOBODY KNOWS 100%” what the position will be when the channels change over as some transponders may be stronger than others. SO DO NOT PANIC

Why is there a changeover with the satellites?
What is the latest news with Astra 2F?
Why are the BBC changing the satellites over?

STATEMENT BY THE BBC

Alix Pryde a Director of the BBC said “The overspill of the BBC’s services will be reduced so viewers outside the UK will find it even harder to receive them. I know that this causes unhappiness to some of you living outside the UK. However, it is entirely appropriate because the BBC domestic services are for people living in the UK only”   She also says "I’m conscious that there is currently some speculation about the timing of forthcoming moves of BBC services between satellites and the reason for these changes"

Why have they got to changeover the satellites?

If she was honestly "Conscious" about just how upset & worried many Brits in Spain, Portugal, France and Germany are about this something would be done.

Did you know that Alix Pryde gets paid £120’000 a year by the BBC?

A Marbella resident who also owns a property in the UK said; “I think Alix Pryde needs to wake up and realize that most of us pay her wages every year when we pay for our TV License fee and not allowing your product to be used sold or Distributed in Europe as a FREE MARKET is laughable” he went on to say “When I read her statement I sent her an e-mail and got no response and I think that everyone in Spain should e-mail her and demand that she widen the beam so that we can at least watch some BBC or ITV” I am now e-mailing my Euro MP to follow this up (no response yet)

So whilst Spain faces the "Loss of UK Television" on the Spanish Costa del Sol, people in Australia are enjoying both BBC & ITV channels!

If this is the case why is Foxtel broadcasting Eastenders and other BBC TV shows in Australia? http://www.foxtel.com.au/whats-on/tv-guide/default.htm 

The BBC is in Europe, the EU directive specifically states that there are no borders, why is the BBC about to cut off over 200'000 people in Spain? 

LOSS OF UK TV COSTA DEL SOL

Why does the BBC not want millions of British Ex-Pats to watch TV? Did you know that ITV Granada now provide programming for a Thai satellite broadcaster in Thailand? Well they do, also the BBC broadcast the BBC News channel worldwide why not BBC1 or BBC2?

According to European Law;

DIRECTIVE 89/552/EEC - "TELEVISION WITHOUT FRONTIERS"

The Directive aims to ensure the free movement of broadcasting services within the internal market and at the same time to preserve certain public interest objectives, such as cultural diversity, the right of reply, consumer protection and the protection of minors. It is also intended to promote the distribution and production of European audiovisual programmes, for example by ensuring that they are given a majority position in television channels' programme schedules.

General principle

The Directive establishes the principle that Member States must ensure freedom of reception and that they may not restrict retransmission on their territory of television programmes from other Member States. They may, however, suspend retransmission of television programmes which infringe the Directive's provisions on the protection of minors.

Is Alix Pryde not aware of this Law? And why did they close the thread on that Blog? The reason is because people are upset & fed up so why did Alix Pryde not respond to anyone? How arrogant is that! £120K a year very nice!

What is your thoughts on this? We would like to hear from you.

HOW COMES THAT WHENEVER YOU CHECK IN A HOTEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD YOU CAN WATCH GERMAN TV, FRENCH TV, BUT NEVER UK BRITISH TV? WHY IS THAT? IT IS DISGUSTING IN OUR OPINION. 

WHY ARE THE BBC ACTING IN THIS WAY? 

UPDATE - DUE TO A RECENT ROCKET EXPLOSION (EURO WEEKLY FORGOT TO MENTION) NOTHING IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE UNTIL NOVEMBER - DECEMBER 2013. WE ONLY BELEIVE THAT THE COSTA DEL SOL WILL BE AFECTED.

Jamie it is amazing how you spend so much time writing these long winded posts but still cannot tell us "What happens when Filmon get's shut down"

Raspberry PI is a waste of time and money.
XBMC is the most annoying piece of software.
RASPBMC is sketchy at best and always having issues
Raspberry PI is best left to the enthusiasts

Get your head out of the sand! Please STOP pushing this rubbish, you are not kidding anyone. Stop pushing a product that is going to leave many people upset, out of pocket, confused and upset. Many people want a premium service with premium channels.

We noticed that you do not even have a mobile number on your website, we wonder why? LOL my number is 965 070 458 call me whenever you want to tell me what your alternatives are to Filmon that rae already in your boxes.

Who is going to give support when things go wrong with PI? You? Unlike the MAG-250 you cannot access the box remotely to change setting if needed, YES it is a £50 solution kind of, but it is NOT a suitable long term solution to Loss of UK TV in Spain.

What you have to appreciate Jamie is that we believe that Raspberry PI "Is not a suitable solution in Spain" the No1 reason is that we would need to employ more staff to spend hours on end providing technical support as these PI circuit boards often crash, over heat they do not even come in a box, Raspbmc is always crashing.

Can you imagine how many phone calls we would need to answer when Filmon goes down leaving hundreds without BBC1 and ITV.

No idea what your agenda is as you are in the UK, I would however strongly suggest that you focus on your newly formed "dodgy enterprise" pushing crappy made in China £50 circuit boards rather than questioning our opinions or slating our products and or services.

We will not stop putting the PI down
We will not stop warning people about the PI
We will not allow you to fool people
We will keep on telling people to "AVOID RASPBERRY PI BECAUSE IT IS USELESS"

Rolling around on the floor laughing... Jamie says "it is easy?" What a liar.

Jamie also says “In any case, there are alternatives to FilmOn. Those alternatives are already installed in the internet set-top boxes that I use”

Guess what? He still has not answered the question; "What are these alternatives that are already installed?" If your PI boxes do have an alternative I may have to review our position.

It does look extremely tricky from the videos I have watched, and I (also a fairly technically minded 66 year old, having programmed computers since 1963) would not be happy trying it!!"

It is not just us that think that the Raspberry PI is useless, annoying, frustrating and a waste of money take 5 mins to read all the upsetting posts on Facebook from people that have no TV.

PS - If you want to see just how frustrating & difficult XBMC is, you can download it for FREE right now on your PC or laptop, you can watch Youtube tutorials on how to set everything up, you can read lots of posts n the internet and learn about downloading repositories and how to set up your XBMC. The whole process is both complicated and mind numbingly complex. But "Dodgy" Jamie reckons it is "Easy" LOL
