SKY TELEVISION Subscribers boost bandwidth requirements in UK as SKY
customers demand for on demand TV increases.
There are
some worried telecommunications engineers at British Telecom as demand for on
demand TV, YouTube and Social Networking apps putting a drain on already slow
internet & broadband speeds in UK. The introduction of SMART TV
systems and the increase in people viewing TV shows and movies “on demand” has
left some towns and even city’s requiring fiber-optic broadband upgrades as old
systems struggle with demand particularly at peak times.
A resident of
Walters Ash in Buckinghamshire said; “It is a joke! When I try and watch a
movie on Netflix I always get “buffering” when I try and watch a movie between
7pm-9pm after 10pm this is no longer an issue”
With demand soaring
for bandwidth and mobile networks struggling to keep up with demand as mobile
phones become more advanced and require a permanent connection to the internet
consumer groups are beginning to send out warnings as many complaints are now
regarding poor connection speeds.
