Can you watch English TV in Spain?
YES - All you need to watch "English TV in Spain" is a good quality satellite dish manufactured by Famaval and a suitable satellite receiver such as SKY or FREESAT, there are even boxes that allow you to bring your UK SKY CARD on Holiday with you.
Can I receive English TV via the internet (IPTV) rather than a satellite dish in Spain?
Yes - You can receive UK BRitish English Televison via the internet although some areas it is not posssible as the internet is not yet strong enough and some areas we are expecting to be overwhelnmed with bandwith expansion as residents in the Malaga area scramble to get IPTV with the fortvcoming chgangeover. The Costa Blanca and Valencia area will not be affected.

Since the launch of the Astra fleet of satellites SKY TV has pioneered the “pay tv” satellite tv market in the UK & Spain. The Spanish market in satellite TV has balloned in the past 15 years as more British families decide to leave the UK and move to Spain and also many Brits have Holiday Homes in Spain. We asked Jason what the situation is with dish sizes in the Torrevieja area;
"We could use a 1M dish at the
minute, but July/Aug with the changeover we are 99.99% confident that 1.4 Famaval is the chap for the job as we are already receiving
signals on a 1M from Astra 2F (CH5 & others) so we know that a 1.4 is ideal
for Holiday property. If you where a resident on Costa Blanca and the space
& budget where available I say go for a 1.9 so you do not get any pixilation
in heavy rain particularly in Feb/March if you are not over during those months
then 1.4 is fine. The 1.9 dish with HD Freesat is
€795 so not always an option for many residents on the Costa Blanca that want "English Television"
This Freesat system will save you over €250 a year to Torresat & be 10 times better picture and reliability, +
with the premium box you can record or pause live
TV.
SKY TV or FREESAT English Television in Spain? Whats the best option?
Whilst some people say that SKY is the only choice, other people find that FREESAT is better as there are no monthly bills.
