What are the options to receive English Television in Spain?

Can you watch English TV in Spain?
YES - All you need to watch "English TV in Spain" is a good quality satellite dish manufactured by Famaval and a suitable satellite receiver such as SKY or FREESAT, there are even boxes that allow you to bring your UK SKY CARD on Holiday with you.

Can I receive English TV via the internet (IPTV) rather than a satellite dish in Spain?

Yes - You can receive UK BRitish English Televison via the internet although some areas it is not posssible as the internet is not yet strong enough and some areas we are expecting to be overwhelnmed with bandwith expansion as residents in the Malaga area scramble to get IPTV with the fortvcoming chgangeover. The Costa Blanca and Valencia area will not be affected.

"We could use a 1M dish at the minute, but July/Aug with the changeover we are 99.99% confident that 1.4 Famaval is the chap for the job as we are already receiving signals on a 1M from Astra 2F (CH5 & others) so we know that a 1.4 is ideal for Holiday property. If you where a resident on Costa Blanca and the space & budget where available I say go for a 1.9 so you do not get any pixilation in heavy rain particularly in Feb/March if you are not over during those months then 1.4 is fine. The 1.9 dish with HD Freesat is €795 so not always an option for many residents on the Costa Blanca that want "English Television"

This Freesat system will save you over €250 a year to Torresat & be 10 times better picture and reliability, + with the premium box you can record or pause live TV.

SKY TV or FREESAT English Television in Spain? Whats the best option?

Champions League: Sky Sports in Germany Mocks Spanish Football in new TV Ad - SKYTV TORREVIEJA - Freesat TV Torrevieja

Sky Sports Germany LTD has been grabbing Media attention on the internet for a television advertisement produced ahead of this week's UEFA Champions League semi finals. The advert, that features a Spanish matador, bullfighting and what appears to be branded clothing, its a toungue out from German football toward all of Spanish football teams and is sure to upset many Spaniards (me included)

FREESAT KICKS BUTT AS IT EXPANDS ITS CLIENT BASE TO - 2 MILLION CUSTOMERS IN UK & SPAIN

Freesat the UK "FREE" TV platform has announced a huge rise in customers in the UK (and Spain) as some customers tighten there belts and turn there back on SKY UK or Virgin UK as they try to find ways to keep mointhly bills down.

The FREE satellite TV Service has become the UK's fastest-growing FREE satellite television platform, adding more new subscribers than other premium competitors in the fierce market place including Sky TV UK and Virgin Media over the last 9 months.

Freesat have announced that they now have almost two million customers in the UK that have purchased a FREESAT box, an increase of almost 300'000.

• Sky News is nominate & wins the  "News Channel of the Year" award organised by the Royal Television Society at the Earls Court Exhibition centre award ceremoney for the fith time in six years.

• December, UK Sky TV is nominated as Britian’s Most Admired Company and goes on to win at the event hosted by Moet Chandon Champagne at the Hempel Hotel in London. UK Sky TV is the youngest Company ever to win Management Today's top award two years in a row.
• Sky joins forces with WWF and the State Government of Acre, Brazil to launch UK Sky TV Rainforest Rescue , which aims to help save 500 million trees in the Amazon there was a charity auction at the launch and several hundred thousand pounds was raised along with a dinner for two with Matt Damon raising £10'000.
  
• Sky launches new Electronic Programme Guide for Sky ⁺ HD customers and anounces that the new technology that includes new features such as an amazing mini TV that allows you to view the channel before choosing using the sky planner page, breathtaking colour shortcuts and enhanced record and search functionality that makes recording TV shows or Movies easy.
• In November 2009 Sky launched the new UK Sky TV Mobile TV App specifically for iPhone and iPod touch developed by Big Bannana studios and financed by an ex Yahoo management team in the Netherlands. The new SKY application allows users to stream live TV via WiFi over the hoime network and the channels available include all Sky Sports channels, Sky Sports News, Sky News, ESPN, SKY Animal Planet and At The Races and Euro Sports 1&2.

• Sky celebrates in style at the Savoy Hotel in London after reaching its target of 11 million subscribing TV customers, making it the choice of 38% of family households in the UK and Ireland.
• Sky Anytime ⁺  a new and exciting internet service delivered video-on-demand (VoD) service launches allowing customers to watch TV shows on demand direct from the hard drive of the SKY+ box.
• Sky ⁺ HD offers a wide selection of over 54 HD channels – the leading HD offering in Europe and by far the best quality high definition picture with the new SKY+HD box available in the UK & Ireland and in Spain with SKY BOX SPAIN.
  
• Sky 3D, Europe's first in-home 3D channel launched to residential customers in October.
• In July Sky and HBO agreed a multi-year output deal which will see Sky become the home of HBO programmes in the UK and Ireland and the deal includes many popular HBO shows including "Curb your Enthusiasm" "Sopranos" "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men" 
  
• Sky announces in July a major new investment & commitment to UK comedy including assistance for new artists on the British & Irish circuits whilst providing support to smaller production Companies in the UK and with a number of new shows to be commissioned for Sky1.
  
• Sky eventually acquires UK Virgin Media Television after months of negotiations a deal was finally agreed after some Directors faught to block the deal which includes the popular pay channel Living. The deal further expand Sky's portfolio of basic pay TV channels and premium channels that can only be viewed with a premium subscription.
• Sky News HD launched with to a massive launch at the Intercontinental Hotels SKY Bar on Park Lane in London's Mayfair, the UK’s first High Definition news channel, launched to coincide with Election Night and was attended by Jonny Depp, Vanessa Paradise, Snoop Dog, Christian Bale, Ozzie & Sharon Osbourne, Pamela Anderson & Piers Morgan, the event cost over £50'000.

• February - Sky News wins the RTS News Channel of the Year award for the fith time in seven years.
• February – Sky launches a brand new channel, Sky Atlantic, which is free to all Sky TV customers. The channel will be the exclusive home of breathtaking and groundbreaking television including the best of US and brand new UK commissions. SKY customers enjoy the HBO blockbuster "Sopranos in HD"
