The saga relating to the "Loss of UK Television on the Spanish Costa del Sol" reads like something out of a James Bond Movie, with Rockets exploding and British Broadcasting Corporation deciding that the Costa del Sol cannot have BBC1 or BBC2 anymore is laughable at the least.
The latest News is related the recent Proton Rocket Explosion that happened earlier in the month that has resulted in SES Astra demanding that Astra 2E the new satellite be placed in storage until a full report becomes available as to why a recent launch resulted in $200 million worth of satellites going up in smoke along with a Proton rocket.
Despite much speculation, rumours and ex-pat bar gossip nothing is expected to happen until December in our opinion, to be fair we would rather be running around the Costa del Sol installing UK IPTV boxes in December rather than August.
The Proton International launch and support service contractor International Launch Services (ILS) expects to receive a full summary report this week with results from the Russian government inquiry board into the recent Proton Rocket Explosion earlier in July 2013.
ILS said it is too soon to determine when Proton will return to flight, but that the next launch is a commercial ILS mission carrying the Astra 2E telecommunications satellite for fleet operator SES of Luxembourg. SES officials said July 26 that they were cautiously optimistic that a launch could occur in September 2013.
We expect 6 weeks of testing once launched and migration of channels around November 2013, this is our opinion as of today.
